You Ask - I Answer
How long does therapy take?
Most CBT is done in around 20 sessions but this can be more or less depending on your goals and when you feel ready to end the therapy. Most free services are limited in the number of CBT sessions they offer and so usually 6 or 8 tends to be the cut off point. To begin with, I'll suggest 6 sessions and will review with you in session 6 how many more sessions we will have until our next review. We will never work for longer than we have to and goodbyes are always hard but well-earned.
Do you work with complex personality disorders?
As long as we are working to goals within my competence level as a fairly new practitioner then yes. I have had clients with complex presentations of depression and borderline personality disorders and helped them reach the goals they have wanted to reach or gotten them to a point where they can continue with a clinical psychologist.
Do you offer concessionary rates?
Yes. If you are on a low income or have been financially impacted by the pandemic then please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your options.
Do you work with children or teenagers?
I am not currently trained or insured to work with any individual under the age of 16.
