At some point, we will all feel this way. But we get stuck and fail to realise in the depths of despair that all we really need to do is to take one small step.
It is exhausting to be chained to the past and terrified of the future and of the things lurking in the corners of our minds.
With each small step we realise we are stronger. We realise that the journey is a beautiful one, in all it's imperfections and challenges.

I am Daniel Dickson, a qualified Cognitive-behavioural therapist and graduate of The Centre of Therapy and Counselling Studies in Glasgow with a SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork: A CBT Approach. I am a member of the BACP and BABCP and hold professional indemnity insurance. For 2 years, I have been providing one-to-one cognitive-behavioural therapy and psychoeducational groups for a range of issues and disorders, particularly with feelings of depression and anxiety and have a background in providing therapeutic support to alcohol and drug users.
My strengths lie in my empathy and gentleness and reading between the lines in what I am being told. First and foremost, I believe in connecting with my clients through openness and genuineness without judgement. I want to sit with you, as you are and with patience and kindness reflect back to you what I observe and learn from you as you speak. I will teach you tools and techniques and provide education to help you better understand yourself and grow into the person you want to become. I will encourage and support you with each step you take until we agree that you are ready to continue your self-work without my support.
Ultimately, I want everyone to understand that you are not defined by the past or with depression, anxiety or any other form of illness, but rather by the goodness that exists within you, in this present moment.

What is CBT?
Cognitive-behavioural therapy is an action-driven and research-based psychotherapy that equips you with the tools and techniques to challenge your negative patterns of thought and behaviour and overcome the personal obstacles in your life. These tools and techniques are taught and practised within and outwith sessions, allowing you to discover the triggers, unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical sensations that plague your daily life. You'll learn how the past has influenced your present and reach new depths of awareness that allow you to see your life more clearly. It is a positive and motivating therapy that helps you realise your personal goals and bring around positive change.
